Woman stretching It’s no secret that exercise benefits your body, and most of us know that it can help us live longer, but most people don’t know what exercises to do.

No matter your fitness level, there are exercises you can do that will improve your mobility, help your flexibility and keep you doing the activities that you enjoy.

Check Out New Options for Fitness in Scottsdale

It was just last year that a study was published about the effects of cardiovascular fitness and how a lack of regular exercise has a larger detriment on the body than smoking. The information presented in the study is all the more reason to start your fitness journey today.

At TMS Fitness, our goal is to help you navigate through the aging process by carefully crafting a fitness and wellness plan that builds strength, endurance, and confidence. We don’t expect you to turn into a professional bodybuilder and compete in the NBF Phoenician Classic. Instead, we want you to feel self-assured that your body can handle everyday tasks.

Try These 3 Exercises to Boost Your Mobility

Whether you’re a fitness guru or an exercise novice, these three exercises will help boost your strength, balance, and flexibility.

Leg Lifts

Start standing upright and place your hands on your hips with your feet hip-width distance apart. Slowly lift your right left and then place it back down. Do this 10 times and then repeat on your left leg for a full set.

Touch Your Toes

You can perform this exercise either sitting or standing. Simply begin by sitting or standing upright, and then hinge at your waist downward toward your toes as far as you can go. Hold the position for 3-5 breaths before coming back up. Repeat 5 times.

Bridge Pose

To strengthen your hips and relieve your back, lie down on your back and place the soles of your feet on the ground. If the tips of your fingers can brush your heels, you’re in the right position. Slowly begin to lift your hips, then your lower back and then your upper back off of the ground one vertebra at a time. Hold for a breath or two and then lower back down. Repeat as necessary.
